I see that on oddly encoded content and when WMP is setup to find album art, rearrange the files and more. Nothing busted but annoying to some.
Turn off those features that can have it run such as http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/windowsmediaplayer/expert/bridgman_05Feb.mspx
I see at least 6 items that could have WMP running around looking for content, etc.
XP Home Edition SP3
AMD Processor 2800+
797 MHz, 1.25GB Ram
Here is my problem:
I run windows media player. I shut it down. Then my computer hangs and I check out task mgr and find the winplayer.exe is running in the background and using up 100% of CPU.
Why is this happening? And, how can I correct it. It is very frustrating.
