WinNT - Faulty profile?

Dec 2, 2003 2:57AM PST

I have a user that is having issue when trying to print out some Microsoft Word documents - some of the text boxes don't print. At first, he thought something was wrong with his computer and then tried printing the same document from his teammate's computer - same thing happened. When his teammate logged on to her computer and printed the document, it printed everything fine. We then tested printing the document from my machine - first as him, then as me. And you guessed it, it prints fine for me but not for him. I have Administrator rights, but he and his teammate have the same rights. Could something be faulty in his WinNT profile? Any assistance that I can get is totally appreciated!

Thanks
Steve

Try this Word cure-all first.

Microsoft Word collects 'cruft' in the NORMAL.DOT file. Delete them all, run Word and it will create a new clean NORMAL.DOT file.

Try that before we go looking elsewhere.

Thanks Bob. I do have a question to ask before attempting antyhing with the normal.dot file. Since this is happening on different machines, it means that every instance of his normal.dot file including the one created on my machine will have to be replaced. Since I logged on to my machine with his profile for the very first time today, shouldn't it be a clean file? Thanks for any assistance you can give.

I've been researching this on different sites including Microsoft, but to no avail. Thanks for your help.
