I had a problem with Areslite after DLing sp2. It would connect but non of my downloads would download. After 2 days I uninstalled sp2. I'm going to give some more time for other applications to catchup with the new service pack. Why are you using WinMX anyway? I've tried them all and Areslite and Imesh wins hands down!

You didn't adjust the firewall.

Just FYI, Microsoft will not be fixing your issue. There will be no patches for XP SP1, so take the time to learn the new ropes.

try uninstalling winmx and reinstalling. i have seen others have problems with applications not working after service pack 2 and most had success with uninstalling apps and reinstalling. i use winmx and had no issues at all.

with the new SP2 update.. comes a very nice firewall... you will have to go in and manually tell it to allow WinMX access to the internet.
You can locate the control in your control panel.. under windows firewall.
Hope this helps

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
