WinMediaPlay10 just keeps running

I don't have any problems with WMP10 per se...it's just that when playing streaming video and then closing the video connection, my WMP10 apparently continues to run in the background. When I try to open another (or even the same) video stream, nothing happens. I must reboot to solve the problem. In rebooting, I get a screen "MP still running...not responding...end program" (something like that). I click End and the computer will reboot and the problem is solved...once again. Any ideas please? I'm barely at the intermediate level in my knowledge.

Running Windows XP SP2, 512RAM, 74GB hard drive, Dell Dimention 8300

Another MP-10 glitch. . .

There are many posts here about MP-10 and problems of all sorts. I dumped mine a week after I downloaded it. Do you really need 10? If not, uninstall it and go back to 9.
