WinMe users-what AV program are you using?

Nov 18, 2003 5:18AM PST

I'm about to part company with NAV because of
the problem with NAV and System Restore(losing
virus defs after a SR and restart-three times
unlucky for me in less than a year and a half).

I need an AV program which does not have this
annoying problem, preferably one with easy to access
tech support, and one that is easy to set up and easy
to use.

I don't mind paying for the program and annual
renewals, but I don't want to pay for tech
support.

Thanks for your help. Eandka

It's an issue with most from what I can see.

System Restore will conflict with many things. With Free AVG which runs on our last Windows ME machine quite well, at least the definition updates are fast and painless.

I use the free version of AVG (There are paid versions too). I also perform periodicly the free on- line scan from Ravan antivirus at http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/ I do not have any 'issues' yet since using them for the past six months.

Also Goback will conflict with System Restore. It should automatically disable system Restore. Also, if System Restore patches are istalled while System Restore is disabled or Goback is enabled some programs can go hey wire.
