WinME Restore points

H/P Pavilion 7940/ 1Ghz P3/ 128 MB sdrm/ 40 gig H/D

WinME restore disabled in system properties for spy-ware/virus removal. Receiving error message
"Unable to delete as file is in use by another program/applicatiion" when attempting to delete files in folder C:\Restore\Archives. Attempt made in both normal mode and safe mode.

Have deleted these files before with out this error message. Need to know how to disassociate these files from program/application. Or what may be causing the error.

As far as I know, WinME has the option to boot in real-mode MS-DOS, or from a boot diskette. Whatever accesses these files, it won't do it then. Then use MS-DOS del-command to get rid of them.

Hope this helps.
