WinME password

How do I turn off the WinME passwrd that shows up halfway thru the boot.

There is an "off" method, but if we use that, Windows ME won't remember ISP passwords and such. Instead, most will want to try this...

1. Delete the .PWL files in C:\Windows
2. Open the network control panel and set the logon to Windows.
3. Reboot.
4. For the last time, enter a NAME, then click OK.

If you enter a password or click Cancel or tap escape, you get to start at step 1.

I tried that Bob and it still won't get rid of it. I'm ready to reformat here soon if I can't fix it.
