Can anyone help me a solution
I have a Dell latitude with XP sp2 when I try to play a DVD on dell laptop, WinDVD kept giving me the "create overlay failed - lower your resolution or color depth". I checked, and 800x400 is as low as it can go. it didn't work

Have you read up on this one?

That is, did you Google it? I may also be duplicating what you tried, but the usual items are:

1. Netmeeting is running (or other similar app).
2. The video driver is out of date (Hint: Microsoft update or button doesn't do this!)
3. DirectX is out of date.
