Windows10 and sleep mode

My HP Desktop h8-1210 falls asleep and I can't wake it up. I have tried every conceivable setting to solve the issue. The only option left is to trash this PC, put it at the curb and go Apple. No more of these Swiss Cheese operating systems from Microsoft.

Wait, so it's off? Forever?

That's a broken PC, not a sleep problem.

I have reformatted the PC with all original HP software and still the PC goes to sleep randomly without being able to wake it by touching the keyboard. One thing I should mention, this Windows10 is an upgrade from Windows8.

Usually I have to tap the power button to wake mine up.

Maybe you want more than that?

Anyhow, if this was an upgrade you get to reinstall, motherboard drivers along with helper apps from HP. I do not have those instructions. HP has them. I can only guide.

But if it was mine I'd check if my BIOS was current and get ready for a clean install of W10.

As to your comment about Microsoft, they don't make the hardware and often don't supply or write the drivers. If you have a complaint, it's how the Windows PC universe is. I've lost count of folk that have no idea just how much work there is to do after you upgrade or install Windows. Sometimes it's not much, other times you deal with it like a clean install.

Thanks for your reply. I realize MS does not make the hardware, however they and the hardware manufacturers should read from the same page. I have been with MS from the DOS days and generally speaking it has been a good experience until this going to sleep problem. I will reformat once more and buy Windows10, so I have a complete clean install. If the problem still occurs, I'll go back to Windows8 on this PC. FYI, I run three other PC's with W10 without problems of this kind.
