windows xp won't load

When I start my pc up it says windows xp was not shut down properly. Click here to reset the computer. When i click it it takes me to the windows xp screen and then goes back to the beginning again. What should I do?

Try Last Known Good Configuration....

and Safe Mode if LKGC does not work.

Note that pressing F8 during bootup will give you these options.
