I am running Windows XP on my old computer and all of the sudden I can't get past the Windows XP opening screen. After the XP opening screen the monitor turns black. I also can't run in safe mode. I figured the XP files were corrupted, and I didn't really need the old computer anymore, so I ran the old hard drive as a slave with my new computer (with Vista) and retreived most of the files. Only problem is that some of the folders have the encrypted flag on and I can not get them off the old hard drive as a slave. Is there any way to get these encrypted files off of the old hard drive? Could I reinstall the corrupted XP files while the hard drive is a slave?
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
