i have a PC with Windows XP Pro installed, and i have re-installed windows about a dozen times now!! after every install it works fine for about 2 days and then starts re-booting itself, which gets progressively worse until the system completely dies, and i cannot even recover from either last known good configuration or overwriting the registry with a good one. On a clean install i have a firewall and antivirus software, which are properly configured. Also when i do the install i get errors like xx.xxx could not be copied, when i press Enter to continue it normally copies the files and then carries on.
the pc is only about 6 months old, it is Pentium 4 2.4GHz processor with 512Mb RAM, 2 hard disks 80Gb and 40Gb.
i have taken the memory chip out and cleaned it, i have cleaned the motherboard, i have cleaned the fans,i have tried installing XP Home, and Windows 2000 but to no avail.
can anyone please help??
thanks a lot
