music is skipping like you bumped a turntable.
have media player 11.did not have problem till i downloaded the media player 11 upgrade.tried deleting windows media player and went back to previous version.music still skips.now if i synch those same songs to my sansa clip mp3 player theres no skipping on the sansa clip.music plays great.i even deleted the whole music library and ripped the cd songs again using the wav lossless format but to no avail.there is skipping in just about all songs.

WMP 11 is a "heavy load."

Try other players but without seeing what machine this is, I've seen WMP 11 skip where 8,9,10 didn't. Since you didn't tell what PC this is, try this -> http://winhlp.com/node/10

And I'm going to write that some won't do that in spite of it being a common cure. I can't count how many either write "I looked" or "I don't think that applies" and miss out on an easy.

I read your post and can't tell if you got the job done from http://winhlp.com/node/10 Again I find that many will not accomplish this so what to do other than tell them to take it to someone that will. It's a simple thing and easy to get it off the list.

However your machine is very likely to buckly under the strain of WMP 11. Take my advice and use other players.

Let's try...

Removing WMP11 can be a trying task, so follow these suggestions from these links:
http://www.google.com/search?q=WMP11+removal&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

If you succeed in removing the WMP player then use a registry cleaner, to better clear old entries. Once that's done, you can did re-install an older WMP player you like. However, be aware you maybe tasking your system to the limit as the WMP11 did push it over the edge. You can use other players that aren't so system resource heavy.

As for restore, it maybe corrupted or you didn't allow the time it needed. You can turn OFF the restore feature, save that setting. Then reboot with no restore, once it finishes it cleared all old restore points. You can go back and reset the restore to ON and allow restore to be active again. You should do this after resolving your player issue first.
