Windows XP will not start, and can't get into BIOS

Jul 26, 2007 8:20AM PDT

Well, topic, for one. It starts up all the way to the screen with the blue sliding bar, then about the third time it goes around, it stops midway, then everything restarts. When I tried safemode, and start windows with last known working config, it does the same thing, just restarts the startup. I can't really get into BIOS, either. It just keeps restarting startup over and over. Any suggestions on how to get around this, preferably by keeping my HDD intact? Thanks...

Ram might cause it

add new RAM lately? Try taking it out b/c it might be the wrong frequency for your motherboard.

if not, try taking your windows xp cd if you have one and try and boot it. If it works, there is probably something wrong with Windows.

it may be caused by a virus also. Find a bootable virus scanner somewhere on the internet. It'll have instructions on how to use it.
