I'd use Grif's advice about scans while you learn more about your PC. Here's Grif:

If this was mine I'd go get HIJACKTHIS to -> EXAMINE <- the PC. Just run the report. Now with that you as an owner should know what each line in the report does.

I am running Windows XP Pro 32 bit with Service Pak 3 and whenever I attempt to shut down, a window pops up that says End Program rundll32.exe and then goes on to say that if I click on "end now" I could lose data. It used to shut down without having to click on "end now". Is there a way to correct this problem?
