Windows XP User Account Problem ( think its a virus )

by BeejWilko / September 17, 2008 10:37 PM PDT

I started my PC up this morning and to my shock, the screen appeared asking for a username and password. The funny thing is, i have never used user accounts on my pc, it normally just boots up and i am away...

It now asks for a username and password. I have tired to login by entering no password and even tried a few , but no luck. I cannot get into safe mode as it still asks me for a password.

What can i do ?

Hopefully i do not have to get a new harddrive....

Boot safe mode and use the administrator account.

No go? Look up NTPASSWD on google to change, reset those passwords so you can get in.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
