Windows XP stability achieved with Roxio GoBack 3

by Puffin / November 5, 2004 1:34 AM PST

Can't say enough good things about GoBack 3 which came packaged with Norton System Works 2003.

Prior to using GoBack, I relied on Windows System Restore, except that it would hardly ever provide satisfaction whenever I got into trouble with my computer, even though I set many "All is fine" dates in System Restore whenever the computer was just running fine for an extended period of time. With System Restore, I repeatedly got a response on each revert attempt: "Unable to restore to previous selected date" or some message to that effect.

The solution I found to repeated computer freeze-ups and glitches was to reinstall Windows (a long process!), add GoBack 3 and, bingo!!, clear sailing ever since.

BTW, I've heard that Acronis Imaging is also a pretty good way of restoring a troublesome computer to a previous well-functionning state.

(P.S.: I've got no financial interest in Go Back 3 or its partners. I don't even knows the guys who designed the software)

I used Go Back with my computers until I got Windows XP. I think it is much better than system restore. Just be sure to disable it and remove it from the startup group if you ever want to completely restore your computer or re-install windows. I had a problem with it interferring with that process.
