Windows XP search

Can someone tell me hpw to change my Windows XP search to the old WIN98 search?

I don't think you can, and XP's search is next to worthless anyway, so it wouldn't make a lot of difference either way.

My advise would be to seek out other file searching programs. Google Desktop would be one, though as I understand it, it's not much of an improvement. Do a little searching on your own to find others and compare your options.

Thanks for your reply, but I did find what I was looking for on another forum.

Here's what you can do if you don't like the new XP search:

Download the Tweak UI for Windows XP (and install it of course).
Tweak UI which gives you access to system settings that are not exposed in the Windows XP default user interface, including mouse settings, Explorer settings, taskbar settings, and more.

After you've downloaded Tweak UI and installed it, run the program - Go to the Explorer sub-menu. In the details pane find "Use Classic Search in Explorer" and select it.
