Question

Windows XP screensaver

Nov 28, 2013 8:35AM PST

I'm running some photobooth software on a XP machine, and have made a custom keypad to control the functions using a hacked usb keyboard.
The controls for the photoboth software require the Ctrl key to be continuously pressed, so I've jammed this on.
If I need to access the computer, I simply unplug my keypad which releases the Ctrl key.

My problem is that I want to use the screensaver to show instructions (in the form of a slideshow) for the photobooth. I've set this to start if the photobooth isn't used for a few minutes.
This works great until I plug in my keypad, and then because the Ctrl key is held down, it doesn't start.

Is there any way that I can get around this so that I can keep the Ctrl key pressed to operate the photobooth software, but also allow the screensaver to start if no other key is pressed. ??

Why not talk to the author about the changes you need to this app?
