Windows Xp Professional keeps restarting with a blue screen.

Jul 3, 2007 2:27PM PDT

Hi all,

Please don't get borded while reading my problem(cause it is really a big story)... it is really getting serious for me now.....

Few days ago I did a mistake and disabled my windows administrator account(My Personal name account of Computer Administrator type) which was not having any password, and windows xp automatically enabled the Default administrator account which is having password and i don't remember the password now... Sad
I tried a lot things to get the password back... and finally decided to install a fresh Windows Xp Professional on my system on same drive where this locked OS resides, in a different directory. It successfully installed and started working but TWO of my Hard disk partitions are not accessible now... because Only the Locked OS Admin has access rights on those two drives...
Then I got a trick to change the Password of the LOCKED OS Admin...
(Repair the OS and Press Shift + F10 when it is INSTALLING DEVICES, which will open a command prompt, now type "NUSRMGR.CPL" and change the password of ADMIN).. I tried that and changed the Password... which successfully changed Happy....
BUT BUT BUT after the successful repair, when this Repaired OS restarted... It is just showing me the Windows Xp logo for a while and then shows a Blue Screen for a while and then gets restarted again...

Please Please Please....
help me....
I can format my C: drive if and only if i can get access to my those two drives... which were accessible only by the LOCKED OS's admin account.... Because two drive contains my very very important data...
NOTE: All of the partitions are of NTFS type file system...

Please Help me...
Thanks in advance...

going out on a limb here.......

you can format c without doing damage to the other partitions and the information them. Just make sure you format the right partition and then install on that one.

Now, I have neve encountered your situation, but my educated guess would be that you would have your partitions back after doing so. I dont believe they would still be locked. I could be wrong.

Worth a try

Take Ownership

Whilst you are in your 2nd install of XP, take "Ownership" of the folders on the other installation and/or partitions.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308421

This may at least allow you access to those important files and documents that you didn't backup. Backup those files, then you can start either repairing or deleting the failed XP, although I suspect deleting is not an option since you have installed the 2nd XP in a folder on the root drive.

That System Administrator password - When did you password protect it? Usually the System Administrator account doesn't have a password on initial install, and so all you have to do is press Enter, or click OK/Continue.

That Blue Screen of Death, (BSOD) - What was the error message? Was there a STOP code?

Not able to Explore the Locked Partitions
Jul 3, 2007 10:25PM PDT

Thank you for your reply!!!

But the Problem is that, even in the 2nd Install of Xp, i am not able to Open or Explore those two locked partitions..
I had given the Administrator Password at the time of Installation (i think 3-4 months ago)

for the BSOD, i am not even able to read it, it just apprears for a Second and my system gets restarted.

Thanks in advance...
