windows xp problems...!!

hey...i downloaded sp2 from windows update n was installin it..it was takin a long time so i thought there was something wrong n restared..now i dunno how to re install sp2 again...its there in the add remove program..wat do i do..n im havin a problem with my IE too now..so i cant go to the windows update page from it..gives an error ..i use fire fox too but it doesnt load the windows update page,...y is that ??also my xp is givin me whole lot of truble..i get errors all the time..i cant open applications it says module missing..cant open IE i get script errors.. ..pls pls reply soon thanks

xp problems..

can u help me with the IE problem..my systerm is really messed up i cant do anything i keep gettin error msgs all the time..how can i fix IE n get to the windows update page..when i click on win update from start nothing happens..when i try to paste the link i get an error..

the thing is i cant use the system restore even if i uninstall sp2 because it says cannot restore to this date when i try to...what could b the cause for this..

From the previous provided MSKB you also had the The Use the hidden $NtServicePackUninstall$ folder method.

In addition, the following MSKB article describes how to reinstall IE.

Q318378 - "How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP"

In particular, try the suggestions from the "Windows XP and Windows XP SP1: Reinstall or repair Windows XP" section.

In the case that you'd try the in-place upgrade (reinstallation), make sure that you have a firewall enabled before going to the Internet.

probs solved! one more detail though..

i ran a repair installation n now things seem ok..but durin the run where the screen adjusts it self it was stuck for a long time so i restarted ..but then thngs were ok n now i dont get a million error msgs..at startup i got a run dll error module missin but ran ad arare..spy sweeper..n regisntry mechanic full n now thats sorted too..i got the windows update to dl SP2 again i did but when i tried to install i got a invalid product key error ..dunno wat that was bout any ideas ? should i try to dl again? or is it ok to install from a cd?n if im gonna install from a cd do i need to be connected?

BTW how would u guys rate registry mechanic..i find it easy to use..n it fixes all the errors it finds.at least it says it doesHappy
