Windows XP password

by nunman62 / July 22, 2004 11:21 AM PDT

I'm trying to gain access to my daughter's PC. She has forgotten her password in Windows XP Home Edition. I've already tried to go into safe mode to log in as the administrator, but it only shows her account as the only one to log on as a user. Is there another way I can access her PC?

Go back to safe mode. When the logon screen appears hit Ctrl-Alt-Del maybe twice. This should bring up a box allowing you to enter a username and password. In the username field, type in "administrator" (no quotes and not case sensitive. Leave password box blank and see if that works. The administrator account is always present but may not show without some tweaking. If no password was ever created for it, it should be blank. If you're in, you can delete her and recreate her account.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
