Windows xp p showing up as Icons on desktop not as Thumbnail

Hi guys i want the actual picture showing up on my desktop not as a windows live photo gallery icon i am stumped as to how to change it. i have a normal jpeg picture with that stupid flower which is the windows live photo gallery icon i want my actual picture eg the thumbnail i have tried everything

There is a bug in image decoding that if it happens on a desktop icon, you will find yourself locked out of that account until you resolve it.

I think that Microsoft would be proper to issue an update to fix that or disable such a feature.

Then again, we can't guess if you know how to change the icon of a shortcut. XP is 12 years old so let's hope you have that basic skill.
