It's been traced to corrupt files, a misconfigured BIOS, and maybe even old gear.

I don't think anyone can guess which it is given the details but try the old ways of fixing it by reloading the OS and about that FLOPPY. Again that error message is well discussed and most folk disable the floppy in the BIOS to make it go away.
