Windows XP Newbie

Jun 12, 2005 12:17PM PDT

I've recently upgraded to XP and when I tried to scan a picture today with my Epson Photo scanner, the scanner button is no longer lit up, and it's saying I need to install a twain driver. Can anyone help??

Obtain XP drivers from Epson website.

Some of the older parallel port scanners will not work with WinXP, however, you are advised to look for your model on the Epson website, check the downloads menu, and look for a possible WinXP driver to install.

Since you didn't list the model of the scanner

we can only guess what is wrong. Go to the web site and see if there are drivers for your model that will work with XP. Chances are, it isn't compatible. Good thing, new scanners are inexpensive and easy to replace.

You probably have to install the "drivers for XP" for all your devices - scanners, printers, CD burners, etc.
