Read some about the "Microsoft Windows XP Command-line Tools and Troubleshooting Utilities (Support Tools)" and their use. Perhaps you'll find either trip across a new thought or find something of help with an anomaly.
I have a Windows Xp machine that I'm having problems with. It logs into a Win 200 server. Since my background is primarily on Novell Networks I figured I'd post this problem.
I'm assuming that it's a setting problem on the XP machine and not a server setting.
The small office had a DSL connection but the user also uses a modem connection to AT&T. It seems the user logs on, only to the local PC (network mapping does not work, and the only way we can get the network mapping to work is if the user first dials into AT&T through the modem. After the user connects to AT&T the NIC works fine on the network.
I'd rather not have to unload AT&T since I think the user uses it for payroll or some other office software.
Any ideas to try? Thanks in advance.
