Windows XP - internet connection

by sangeeguna / September 18, 2008 6:33 AM PDT

I reinstalled windows xp professional to my computer as it had problems connecting to the internet. After reinstallation I have several problems,
1. I couldn't change my resolution, the slider in settings could not be moved. So, everything is so huge.
2. I tried to create a new connection, and I couldn't do that too. So, I couldn't connect to the internet.

Please help me solve this. I really appreciate your input.

XP has some very basic drivers, but none for graphics and most networking. You're gonna have to find the specific drivers from the computer's web site.

All you have done is re-established a working operating system, nothing more. Now you have to go and reinstall all the various drivers for the various pieces of hardware that is attached to your machine. To find out what all you need to reinstall, right click on your My Computer icon and click on Manage, in the window that pops up, on the left side, click on Device Manager and it will show everything that's attached to your computer. Anything with an exclamation point or a question mark needs your attention/additional drivers installed.
