And it's a HP with the same old SATA issue.
Bob
I have just recently bought a HP Pavillion dv9000 laptop that came with Windows Vista. As most of us have experienced, Vista is not really what we expected it to be so after 2 months of using Vista on this laptop I finally got the guts and the time to install Windows XP.
The problem is when I put in my CD to install XP during boot-up everything goes fine(checking hardware, loading xp files) until where it says press ENTER to load XP. When I press ENTER the next page says I dont have a harddrive properly installed and then it tells me to plug in a harddrive and make sure its turned on properly inside my computer.
Now I have been using this harddrive for 2 months on Vista and I dont have the guts to open up my laptop to check if my harddrive is plugged in. I am saying, the harddrive is obviously plugged in if I have been using it for 2 months.
What is the problem? anyone else had the same problem and how did you fix it? Plz help me fix this problem.
By the way, I want to dual boot XP with Vista, I dont want to install Vista over XP, i want to install XP with Vista already installed.
