WIndows XP Home Video Editing

Apr 27, 2005 10:02PM PDT

Just purchased my first Dig. Camcorder. Any suggestions on editing software or does XP have preinstalled software that's useful. Looking for basic abilities for editing kid's soccer games, dance recitals etc.

What I use...

1. Firewire and ... if the software doesn't do a nice transfer WinDV that you find with google.com

2. Ulead DVD Moviefactory. I do not care for the Microsoft solution since it's too proprietary and some items I can't work with since the video is in .WMV files...

3. CDBurnerXP is used if I need to toss some files on DVD (not for video dvd work, but a tool I have to toss files on and to erase DVDRW medis.)

XP if you have SP2 has Windows Movie Maker 2. Since it's there and free give it a try. The ones that Bob uses are very good. Here is a link with some helpfull info. John
