I have two PCs connected through a Netgear DG834G router but the network is exhibiting an odd problem.
When accessing files on system 1 from system 2 everything works fine, also LAN games work flawlessly. When trying to access shared files on system 2 from system 1 the error message appears saying that the resource is unavailable or the user has insufficient rights to access them. Both machines are running with administrative rights.
In Network places system 1 can see it's own shared files and folders while system 2 shows the shared files on system 1 and not it's own shared files.
I ran the network setup wizard, this had no effect on the situation. I have been told that Windows XP Proffessional has an option to turn off 'simple file sharing' not shown in XP Jome.
