Alan,

Just right-click the drive or folder and select Sharing & Security....

Then check the option Do not share this folder.

Click Apply | OK.

Can anyone assist? I've exhausted every resource available trying to troubleshoot my file sharing problems, including calling Dell directly, all to no avail. I just purchased a new Dell Dimension 2400 with Windows XP, and I have connected it to my old Dell machine (Windows ME) via a serial port cable so I can transfer files from the old machine to the new one. I have successfuly connected the machines, they see/acknowledge each other, but I am unable to commence the file transfer action. The File Transfer Wized on the new machine keeps clocking on an hourglass, looking for the other machine, even though both machines are already connected. What is the fix to commence the file transfer action? Thanks.
