Windows XP favorites

I have been having a problem accessing my "favorites" folder from the toolbar. When I try to access it from the toolbar, the folder is empty. I am also not able to add anything to it. I have searched my computer and found that they still do exist under C:Documentsandsettings/username/Mydocuments. Just wondering how this happened, and how I can fix this problem.

Assuming you mean IE's Favorites (just an assumption, of course, so excuse me if I'm wrong), they shouldn't be in username\mydocuments but in username\favorites. And new favorites you add should come there. It's strange that it doesn't work.

My first guess: somehow the Favorites location in IE has changed to something invalid. See if the first four hits of http://www.google.com/search?&q=xp+favorites+location are of any help. They tell you how to change the location, and hopefully everything works again then.

Hope this helps.
