Windows xp Doesnt want to Shut down

ok I just installed a fresh copy of window xp pro, and When I go to start->Shutdown, and click any of those buttons, nothing happends. That box just closes, and programs close "somwhat", but windows never closes.

Restart doesnt work
Shutdown doesnt work
Logoff doesnt work

how can I fix?

XP from Microsoft doesn't install your motherboard drivers. I don't see you finished the OS install.

Also, you neglected to tell much about the hardware so I can't confirm this is the issue.

Motherboard:A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Processor:AMD Athlon X2 4400+
Memory:TWINX2048-3500LLPRO
Video Card:PCI Radeon 7200 64mb
Hard Drive # 1:Maxtor 80GB
Hard Drive # 2:Western Digital 120 GB

I got the drivers for everything, and windows is up to date..

Some used Windows "Update Driver" button and it will anounce the drivers are up to date but they are not.

I see no indication you installed the latest drivers.

There is also a possibility that this new board/cpu does have a shutdown issue. I know my first Athlon 64s did not shutdown proper until a BIOS update.

Did you call the maker of this machine? It's a warranty issue unless the drivers/bios are out of date.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
