Re:Windows Xp Crash Crisis + "30 min. or later it will come back on" = HEAT ISSUE?

When time is a factor in such posts, the usual is to remove the case cover, make sure that all the fans work and are unobstructed. If they are and pointing a small house fan at the internals fixes it or improves the issue, then you get to take this machine back to its maker and get them to fix it.

Also when i was restarting my computer it would come up with an unknown multimedia controller prompt in the bottom right corner and was asking me if i had to software to install it. Sent a report to windows xp a yesterday and they said it has something to do with the dvd drivers or something to that sort. So I disabled the dvd drive under device manager and that prompt no longer comes up. But it still freezes and the monitor wont come on. Could this have something to do with the freezing or be related in any way at all. HELP!

NO! You are being distracted from the first indication of time and heat issues. Many will look for software, driver issues when heat can create any number of issues.

I offered a simple inspection and test (remove cover) to find if this is your issue. If you won't do this, would you fetch a driver if I asked you to? As it stands, you may want to sit and ponder what direction you want to go.

Problems only with a particular game ? Which one ?
Computer specifications ok with game requirements ?(especially video card, Direct X version)
