To recovery I perform what is called the XP REPAIR INSTALL so the boot manager and the OS is now aware of the partition changes. Hint? Type XP REPAIR INSTALL at google.com for how to do that. If you didn't delete your Windows partition you'll save a lot of time.

Hi,
I'm running Windows XP PE and I've just tried to format one of the physical hard drive on my computer (it had 3 partitions in it). The problem is that instead of doing it through computer management, I threw in a windows xp pe disc and decided to delete the partitions on the drive through the install screens (I don't know what I was thinking, I had just come back from work). So now the computer will not boot up on my previous install, and the only way I could get the computer to work was by reinstalling windows. I tried playing around with the jumpers on the hard drives and also change the bios boot specifications but all to no avail. Even when I unplug the recently formatted drive the other drive (which was working perfectly) won't boot at all, I just get the old flashing cursor in the top left hand of the screen.
Any advice you guys can give me that might help return me to the previous install would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Arno
