Windows XP 34-bit to Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit?

I have an AMD Athlon 3800+ X2 with 64-bit support, can i upgrade from a 32 to a 64 bit?

Most owners can't find the 64 bit drivers. It gets worse from there.

You cannot upgrade from a 32-bit OS to a 64-bit OS, so if you wish to proceed you'd have to reformat and start fresh, restoring all your personal files from backup and installing your programs from CD. As Bob said, though, Vista x64 lacks the third-party support its 32-bit cousin has, so it's usually best to stick with what works.
