I am sure I have a virus of some kind as my comp is real slow. my mom refuses to replace my discs and I don't know what to do... can anyone help me or tell me where I can get the xp operating discs.. be it download. Get back to the shop or Dell.....

....if you have documentary evidence that you are the owner, Dell should be able to replace the recovery discs with a minimal cost. The shop where you bought the computer may have copies of the discs for just a time as you are now in, or help procure them for you.

I would recommend the same thing as Papa. If your PC is still under warranty and you have the store receipt, they might even replace the discs free. If not, you could buy an XP upgrade disc and use the system repair option which restores your system files. Make sure to take note of your computer's laser imprint XP identification Key. This label is usually affixed to the side or back of a desktop tower and on the bottom of a laptop. Happy

Call Dell

You have a service tag number that will allow them to track your computer. They may not replace them free of charge but, it may be cheaper than buying a new XP CD.

I am sure I have a virus...

While you pursue an XP disc, maybe you can try and fix the virus/spyware issue, for free. A forum member made up the following list:
I personally have Adaware, Spybot, MASB,Spyware Blaster and AVG7 and I am on a Win XP SP2 machine. Have been trouble free for quite some time now and usually install these free products on family and friends computers and these free programs are able to get rid of all virus/spyware that has been found on their computers.
Good Luck
