It seems that the move itself didn't damage anything because Windows is still working, and the system says there is a network connection.
But can you tell us more about this connection? I assume this is a PC and not a laptop. How does this PC connect to the network, eg via a cable, or wireless? What does it connect to, a router, or directly to a modem?
What messages are given for;
1] The network icon in the Notification area, (where the clock is)? if you hover the mouse over that icon, what does it say? For example, my network icon says "Network: Access Local and Internet"
2] What error messages can you see when you use a browser to access the internet?
If a router and a modem are used for internet access, I would power them both down, (turn them off), wait two minutes, then power them back up, then reboot the computer.
I am at a friends house and one of their computers are not connecting to the internet, they have a network set up and all tha good stuff and its working fine on allt he other computers BUT hers. She recently moved her desktop from the floor to her desk to get it away from the pet hair, and i made sure the wires are all in good condition and plugged in correctly. The computer will not repair the connection nor will the internet work. Although windows says its connected to the network and that it is working. I dont know much more than that about this problem. Any suggestions?
