Windows Vista won't install past 0% of the first stage

As said above, windows vista won't install at all. I;m stuck on the page where windows warns not to 'shut down windows'. I'm hazarding a guess that the reason it's stuck like this is because I accidentally turned my computer off - I'm still not sure if I actually did turn off the computer or not, but it would explain why the service pack isnt stalling. I'd like to ask how to fix this problem becuase it's being very inconvenient right now. thank you;.

Note: If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem.

Some machines need a bios update to install and run Vista. But let's say this machine ran before. But I can't write that. I'd be guessing badly.

Tell more.
