windows vista updates problem

Oct 11, 2007 2:25PM PDT

before I get started here is some info. on my system.
- Acer 5100-3357
- Windows vista home premium
I have attempted windows updates on my cpu many times but whenever I log back on after the restart it always says updates failed except for the important "windows defender" updates. This frequently happens.
I did what the windows help and support told, it did not work after several attempts. I also tried the knowledge base article but at some point in renaming the files with command prompt it just kept saying "access denied".
Some new updates were available today and after configuring the updates my laptop kept restarting endlessly on it's own until I powered it down. I have had a lot more problems with windows vista than I am writing but, can someone please help me with this, PLEASE!!!

If so, then try to run them as the administrator on right click. If this is a single user computer I'd suggest you disable UAC, in user accounts. Sorry, no one got with you sooner.
