Windows Vista Update

Jul 14, 2007 1:42AM PDT

My computer automatically downloads and installs updates. 6 of these updates can never install. (http://img454.imageshack.us/img454/899/updatescreendumpbw4.jpg)

This is really anoying because when i shut down my computer it trys to install them but it cant so it simply shuts down. But when i turn it on it tries to configure the updates which takes a couple of minutes and then restarts the computer. On restart it tries to configure the updates which takes 30 seconds and then it lets me log on. How can i fix this?

E-mail Microsoft...

There are various manual updates, patches, and file deletions that Microsoft can supply to resolve such problems on a case-by-case basis. Update-related issues are handled at no charge, so I'd suggest clicking here and have them address the problems. If it can't be fixed now they may be able to find the cause and release a fix down the road.

Good luck.

Re: Windows Vista Update issues

Using Windows Update, you can choose to "Hide" updates that you don't want, or which just won't install for some reason. You won't get the annoying issues you mentioned. However, if these are updates you should have, you need to figure out why. Sometimes this is due to a corrupted SoftwareDistribution folder. You can go to Microsoft help for more information. Renaming your current Windows "SoftwareDistribution" folder to "SoftwareDistribution.old" may help.
