Windows Vista Ultimate help, explorer.exe is not running.

by Spartan117.halo / August 31, 2007 12:59 AM PDT

Hi there,

First off I will tell you my system specs.

AMD ATHLON 64 X2 4600+
Gigabyte M4 (sli capable motherboard)
ATi Sapphire X1650 pro
2gb of 800mhz DDr2 Ram
one 500gb SATA drive with Windows Vista Ultimate
and on IDE 80gb with Vista Corporate.

I have Vista Ultimate as my main Boot OS.
The problem that happens is that when I logon to my account, the screen is blank but then a window comes up which is open in my user folder directory. So I have to navigate from there to my Windows folder in the SATA drive to load explorer.exe
Ive checked it and its not damaged or missing because once I click on it, everything comes up the way it should be.
Ive tried repairing windows but its still there. I have been doing this same routine every time i logon for about 2 months now, and i'm a bit fed up of this and want everything back to normal.

I repeat "Windows is not damaged and is fine" obviously i must have done something like switch it off or something.
I checked msconfig.exe but i cant find the explorer.exe in the start up list.

Thanks

Meet the drop-resistant Moto Z2 Force

The Moto Z2 Force is really thin, with a fast processor and great battery life. It can survive drops without shattering.
