Windows Vista System Restore Has Been Corrupted

Feb 28, 2012 8:25AM PST

Does anyone know how to reinstall Windows System Restore?

I cannot restore my computer to an earlier date nor can I create a restore point. System Restore goes through the entire restoration process then an error message comes saying something about unable to restore computer and that system restore has been corrupted. Does anyone have any ideas that may be helpful?

There are antivirus suites that cause this. Norton and now I hear Kapersky do this.

And the old system was once you took care of the antivirus issue, you turn it off, turn it back on to start collecting new restore points.

And no, no one has ever found a way to use broken points.

You Sure That Works On Windows Vista?

The article you suggested is for the much older Windows Millennium Edition.. I doubt the same registry keys exist or are applicable.

Hope this helps.
