Just to add some specs:
Vista Home Premium OS
Sony Vaio VGN-N385E, 1G ram
Also, I'm thinking of using Windows PE to configure my partitions and maybe reformat that way. I'm concerned if I do have to format C and reinstall the OS, I might run into the problem that was posted earlier - that I would not be able to reinstall my OS due to a freeze process.
Thanks.
Hello. I have an issue with reformatting my C: drive using Vista Recovery. I've decided to reformat after an update somehow prevented the system to boot into OS. After selecting the option to reformat, the system seems to not respond at all and the process is frozen.
In fact, if I attempt any other recovery tools, like Sys Restore or Hardware Diagnostics, the system seems to not respond after initiating the process as well.
My laptop is an old Sony Vaio from 2007. Wondering if this is a corrupted system file or if it is as serious as a hardware problem. Appreciate any help greatly. Thanks!
