Windows Vista Movie Maker problem

Jul 26, 2007 6:10AM PDT

Whenever I try to create or edit movies with the Windows Vista Movie Maker the program runs very, very slowly or freezes up altogether. The program is virtually worthless. Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just me? I have a 2.66 gig processor and a gig of RAM. Shouldn't that be sufficient? Can anyone provide a clue? Thank you!

Tell us about the graphics card...

That and RAM are the heart and soul of Vista, especially the multimedia-related applications. Old integrated graphics can result in spotty refreshes and the appearance of running slowly, so it's something to check on.

Let us know.

The Graphics Card...

...is an MSI (Micro Star International) NX 6200 AX nVidia G-Force 6 series with 256 MB of on-board memory. Should be sufficient I would think. The only think that I can think of that might account for poor performance of the Windows Movie Maker program is that I have less than a gig of hard drive space left on the C partition. Perhaps this might affect the swap file? Any other thoughts or ideas on this problem?
