Windows Vista firewall has blocked windows explorer

by tozzywozzy / March 4, 2010 7:41 PM PST

Hi, in serious need of help. Laptop worked fine last night, but turned it on today, signed in and it came up with a message saying 'Windows firewall has blocked windows explorer' so all i get is a black screen with the 'My documents' folder open. When it told me this, i tried to press unblock but then it came up with an error which it closed before i had a chance to read.

Is there a way i can access the firewall and unblock it through startup settings? My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L300-20D.

Please help as i have alot of important work on there that i can't access on any other computer because of the software it needs.

Many thanks

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
