Windows Vista Basic Home

Aug 12, 2007 3:54AM PDT

i purchased a new ACER laptop and it came with a Windows Vista Basic Home instead of Windows XP which i was so used to. why is that the screen is flickering when i watch movies from the dvd player? same thing happens when i play games or while using Windows Media Player or their Arcade Acer DVD Player?
the other question is why the Windows Vista will not play the older games? i downloaded the Call Of Duty CD-ROMs but only to get the message saying that the Windows Vista cannot run the game.

I have the 599 buck 17 inch model and the 479 buck smaller one that I can test dvd play on.

But where can I download those Call of Duty CDs to test for that?
