General discussion

Windows Vista

Feb 25, 2007 4:21AM PST

My new desktop came with the Windows Vista Home Premium OS. The Vista small business suite which includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. was not available at the time of purchase. Should I purchase and install the Windows XP version of the programs to be used with the Vista operating system? If so, where and what versions should be purchsed? Thank you.

Office 2003 which is for XP or Vista but why not just wait for Office 2007 until it is restocked at your store? Much "better" so I have heard. Good luck!

Go to www.microsoft.com/office, they have trial downloads that are good for 60 days. You can pick the version you want and try it before you buy.
Small business 2003 is supposed to work with Windows Vista, but I had a lot of problems with it.

Wait for Office 2007.

I've got Office 2007, and it's heaps better than Office 2003. So I'd definitely recommend going with Office 2007 instead of 2003. I'm really liking the new ribbon UI in 2007.
