Ok Folks I come to you for help.
I have a Windows XP Home Edition OEM version in stalled on a Sony desk top system. The system came from Sony with this software.
I cannot do any Windows updates, I get the message that ActiveX must be installed but I do not get the option to install it. I have lowered the IE 6.0 browser settings to low and still no luck. I tried to copy XP Service Pack 2 to a cd and install it from there and get the message that the software I am trying to install as not passed the Windows Logo Testing and will not be installed. I have tried to update Internet explorer and get the same message about logo testing. I have also seen a message saying the browser security setting prevent the installation but the security is set to low.I have verified the Cryptographic service IS running. I have uninstalled the patch MS03-023(KB823559) and rebooted. If XP Home has the local security policies like XP Professional has I havent found them. I have no ideas what to try now. I researched the error messages and tried what Microsoft suggested with no luck.
Has anyone seen this problem? I need all the help I can get.
Thank you in advanced
