Since a full installation of Windows is less than 4 GB, it's strange that an update would be 10 GB. Moreover, as long as it's downloading, it isn't updating. Just downloading the data to start updating when it has all.
All you can do: define your connection as "metered". Then only the security fixes will be updated.
I have installed an updated version of Windows 10 and disabled automatic updating of windows as I don't like it at all. It eats up all of my data. Last time, when I did this, it ate up my nearly 10 GB and still not finished. When out of frustration, I disabled it, it again resumed itself. Why Microsoft, why?
Can anyone suggest me the best way to completely disable resuming the automatic updates.
I can't deal with it. Each time, i disable it in Computer > Manage, it starts it again and keeps on updating and eating up my data.
So frustrating.
Thanks,
Steve
